Exposing CIA Operative Valerie Plame Wilson: “None dare call it treason!”

John Stormer’s title of his controversial book lends a new meaning to the phrase, when we consider the Bush Administration’s exposure of CIA Operative Valerie Plame Wilson, as payback for Joe Wilson’s article in the New York Times. We have conveniently placed it aside, thanks to the lack of outrage by the Congress, the Media and the American Public! It’s only now, with the publication of her new book, “Fair Game,” that Valerie Wilson has been given a chance to speak to the American Public. What the Bush Administration and Robert Novak did was nothing but treasonous, during the time of War!

The Intelligence Identities Protection Act of 1982 clearly states that anyone who “learns the identity of a covert agent and intentionally discloses any information identifying such covert agent shall be fined under title 18, United States Code, or imprisoned not more than five years, or both” Read complete Intelligence Identities Protection Act. Does this behavior sound familiar? It should! This is exactly what happened to Valerie Wilson, when her name was disclosed by “members” of the Administration to Robert Novak, a well known hack for the Bush Administration and anything Right of Center! Novak reported that she was an analyst, not in covert operations, but in fact, Mrs. Wilson had been assigned to the Counter Proliferation Division of the CIA, which was investigating all the information on Iraq’s WMDs. This would be later renamed and expanded into the Joint Task Force on Iraq. Valerie Wilson was in charge of its operations group after 9/11. Faced with an approaching declaration of War, The JTFI was unable to find and reliable intelligence regarding what Iraq had regarding WMDs. Read What Valerie Plame Wilson Really Did At The CIA: The Nation.

Former Ambassador Joseph Wilson was sent at the request of Vice President Cheney’s office to determine whether Iraq had purchased yellowcake, for making uranium, from Niger in the late 1990s. He did not find any and reported it back to the CIA. Nevertheless, it was reported as true by President Bush in his 2003 State of The Nation Address, and Wilson finally wrote “What I Didn’t Find In Africa” in the New York Times. To get back at Joe Wilson, those in the Administration decided that Valerie Wilson was “Fair Game,” and you know the rest of the story. She has finally spoken out for the first time in her book “Fair Game,” and everyone who believes that a crime has been committed by the Bush Administration should read it!

Unfortunately, no one spoke out on this treasonous behavior when it happened. Joe and Valerie Wilson stood alone! Where the Hell were the Democrats or the Media on this betrayal? Where was the CIA when one of their own was exposed? The Bush Administration created a cloud over the entire matter and allowed ‘Scooter” Libby take a short fall, just to satisfy an obvious disinterested nation, and then Bush pardoned him just before he was going to jail.....or perhaps give up the real story. So why bring it up now? It’s “old news” on a new book that’s just been published.....Right?.....Wrong!

A crime was committed by members of the Bush Administration, not for profit, but for payback. If Wilson’s story endangered the safety of America, or was an obvious lie to undermine the morale of the American public, there might be some justification. It was perpetrated because Joe Wilson was telling the truth about Niger, the “nut” for our declaring War on Iraq! At this point in time, little can be done, as the Independent Council examined what evidence was available and did about as much as he could do. On the other hand, “Fair Game” will, hopefully, keep this matter from becoming lost in the wake of mass destruction left by the Bush Administration. We are a nation of laws, and we have a Constitution that protects us. By giving any branch of government, and in this case, the Executive Branch, more power than it has been allotted by the Constitution, it will abuse it. It’s similar to a child that is given everything it wants……it will always want more! We have ventured into new historical territory with the abuse of the Bush Administration. Let the Valerie Wilson affair be a lesson to all of us of how the abuse of power can enable those who would use it as unscrupulously as did the Bush Administration. History will judge and its judgment will be a condemnation on how power corrupts!

Where was Obama?

I’m glad that someone out

I’m glad that someone out there feels the same way that I do regarding this crime! It is a crime to “blow the cover” of a CIA Operative, and Valerie Plame Wilson was an operative, and had been for some time. Not only did they expose her, but they exposed anyone who may have had dealings with her, both here and abroad. As she was assigned to the Middle East, who knows whether any lives were taken, due to this disclosure by Dick Cheney? If they have any proof, he should be indicted, tried and sentenced! This particular Bush travesty really pisses me off!

This is a primary example of

This is a primary example of the Bush Administrations abuse of executive power. I hope Obama declassifies documents that will incriminate these buffoons. I don't think the AG would have the courage to do anything though. I'm just glad we have a new administration that is going to try to be as open as possible.
